Every Smart Ecogen installation is fully under-written by the Home Improvement Protection Scheme (HIPS) – a consumer protection organisation. Any products installed by HIPS must be fit for purpose, installed professionally and come with comprehensive guarantees which are underwritten by specialist insurance. This provides our customers with a high level of protection and peace of mind.
Installing solar panels is easier than you might think.
The good news is you won’t need planning permission. Firstly we will do a site survey, which means one of our qualified solar installers will visit and assess how suitable your property is. We can then advise you on the best positioning for the panels, ideally on a roof that faces south, east or west, so they have most sun exposure.
As you might expect, solar panels work best on the part of the roof most exposed to the sun. The good news is though that they also work well on areas a bit more shaded.
A south facing roof is the best for optimum electrical output, but we also consider east and west facing roofs.
A very shaded north facing roof is not suitable.
Partially shaded areas, perhaps overshadowed to some degree by trees, buildings etc can sometimes be boosted with ‘optimisers’.

Direct current (DC) is converted to Alternating current (AC) by the inverter. This energy is stored in the storage battery.
